From your first click to your hundredth platform — everything you need to know to master Stick Jump.
Stick Jump uses the simplest possible control scheme — a single input that works on every device.
| Device | Action | How |
|---|---|---|
| Desktop | Extend stick | Click and hold left mouse button |
| Desktop | Drop stick | Release mouse button |
| Mobile | Extend stick | Tap and hold the screen |
| Mobile | Drop stick | Lift your finger |
Your goal is simple: get your stickman as far as possible by bridging gaps between platforms. Each successful crossing earns you one point. The game ends the moment your stick is too short (you fall into the gap) or too long (the stick extends past the platform and you topple over the edge).
There's no time limit and no lives — you get one shot per run. Your challenge is to beat your own high score with each attempt.
Click "Play Now" to load Stick Jump. Your stickman will appear on the first platform, ready to go.
Look at the distance to the next platform. Each gap is randomly generated, so take a quick mental note.
Press and hold your mouse or finger. The stick grows vertically from your stickman's position. The longer you hold, the longer it gets.
When you think the stick is the right length, release. The stick falls forward and bridges the gap (hopefully!).
If the stick reaches the next platform, your stickman walks across safely and you score a point.
Keep going! Platforms get narrower and gaps more varied as you progress. Try to beat your personal best.
Don't watch the stick grow — focus on the edge of the target platform. This helps your brain judge distance more accurately.
Rushing leads to mistakes. Take an extra half-second to gauge the distance before pressing. There's no timer!
The stick extends at a constant rate. After a few attempts, you'll develop an instinct for how long to hold.
Slightly overshooting is safer than undershooting. A stick that's a bit too long still lands — one that's too short means instant failure.
Develop a consistent rhythm. Count silently ("one-Mississippi") to build muscle memory for different gap widths.
Expert players learn to recognize platform widths instantly. Narrow platforms require more precise sticks, while wide ones give margin for error.
While gaps are random, certain distance ranges appear frequently. Train yourself to nail the most common gap sizes consistently.
The best runs happen when you're in "the zone" — not overthinking, just reacting. Practice until the timing becomes second nature.
Stick Jump doesn't have a traditional pause button, but since the stick only grows while you're holding down, you can take as long as you want between each jump. There's no time pressure between platforms.
There's no upper limit! The game continues infinitely as long as you keep making successful jumps. The real challenge is maintaining focus and precision over dozens of platforms.
The stick grows at a constant speed throughout the game. This means once you've calibrated your timing, it stays consistent. What changes is the variety and difficulty of the platform gaps.
